Was riding home after a long day at work when suddenly my exhaust got louder and had a strange ‘there’s metal dragging behind you’ sound.

Seriously. I can't make this shit up

If that bike is too much of a problem for you, I’ll take it off your hands for $100 and a firm handshake.

I dont know. I mean maybe, but how did it get like that in the first place? that section of pipe was straight.

Big Bubbas got jokes!

Seriously though. I feel like every time I ride it something falls off. This thing will be brand new if I just ride it enough...

Keep at it. According to the guys at Car Talk, if you disassemble and reassemble anything often enough, you’ll have two of them. This because of the “leftover parts” rule.

Header wraps actually damage untreated common steel in 2 ways.

1. Now that the pipe can’t cool down the metal gets hotter then it would have if left unwrapped And actually deteriorates the metal. (Actually also a problem on racing turbo headers buy the wrong stainless steel and it will do the same thing.)

2. Air moister, say on a very humid day will condensate on the exhaust and the wrap keeps it there corroding the metal.

The only way for long term heat protection is ceramic coating but it must also be coated inside or the same interior heat corrosion will happen.

Issue #1 I get. #2, I live in the desert, so humid days dont exist. Maybe Ill send the next set out for ceramic coating.
